The 20' Tilting Shoe Base Aluminum Flagpole offers the advantage of flush mounting (if an in-ground commercial flagpole isn't viable). It can also quickly be laid flat on the ground by one or two people for maintenance or in case of inclement weather. This hinged flagpole is mounted into a concrete pad or base using a ring welded to its base and a sturdy hinge pin.

It's recommended that shoe-based flagpoles not be installed into existing concrete surfaces like sidewalks; they should be installed in a new concrete pad. Chemical anchorage or epoxy bolts are advisable when installing a shoe-based flagpole into existing concrete. Shoe-base flagpoles are not recommended for higher elevations or for building rooftops. You should consult an engineer of record before installation; please remember to allow enough clearance for trees, power lines and buildings.

A 20' commercial flagpole is a good choice for a one- to two-story building, and the 20' Tilting Shoe Base Aluminum Flagpole is rated for winds up to 270 mph when not flying a flag. Included are a 5" gold ball ornament, single revolving truck, 40' of white polyester halyard, two snaphooks with covers, a 9" aluminum cleat and the shoe base, as well as four anchor bolts and three stainless Allen head screws for mounting.

Just so you know, while a Tilting Shoe Base Flagpole is robust, it's about 85-90% as strong as an embedded flagpole. However, the flush-mounted flagpole design allows you to install these commercial flagpoles in settings where an in-ground model would be impossible. If you find any problems, refuse the shipment and notify our customer service team immediately so we can begin sending a replacement.

We recommend flying a 3’ x 5’ flag with a 20’ flagpole for a balanced, professional appearance. If you’d like to fly two flags, the total flag area should not exceed 24 square feet.
